The Trickster was back on earth once more. He had to sneak his way into heaven, which wasn’t too difficult seeing as he could make it so that the other angels couldn’t sense his presence. He went there to have a chat with Joshua. Everything that he had thought was true. So God had brought him back but for reasons that are unknown. That was the ass kicker. Gabriel just didn’t really want to care about this anymore. He wanted to just disappear again, but something is telling him that he can do that anymore. He wanted to wait, he wanted to see if there was some sort of special deed that his father wanted done or if he was just to live another life, not to be bothered again. All this thinking made Gabriel’s head spin. He needed to get out and get back to his old life before he had met the Winchesters. That wasn’t going to be easy though.
The youngest archangel was still sort of in shock. He didn’t know if it was because he was back from the dead or if it was something else. He could still feel the blade going through his body, slicing it like a knife in fruit. The thing that really made him upset about it, not the fact that he died, was that it was his own brother on the other end. The brother that Gabriel cared about the most was the one that drove Gabriel’s own blade though his heart and killed him. Things change though. Gabriel knew he shouldn’t let that bother him anymore. He knew that it would have happened eventually and if not Lucifer than it was bound to be Michael.
Gabriel stood in the room, the very room that he had died in, trying to remember every little detail. Some things were easier to do than others. The most that he could remember was just that, the feeling of a blade going through his heart, but it wasn’t the physical pain, it was the pain of a bond broken. Gabriel had broken that bond and finally stood up for what he believed in and realizing that was sort of a pick me up for the youngest archangel.
Things would be different next time, very different.

Lucifer was free again. His demons were loathsome creatures, even worse than humans, but at least they were loyal pets and didn't like to see their master caged up for too long, which was a lot more than he could say about any of his brothers. He knew that all of them would have loved nothing more than for him to remain locked up until the end of time. Unfortunately for them, Lucifer was never going to rest until he accomplished the destruction of humanity and restored Earth to its former glory again.
So far, several destructive weather storms throughout the world had been what he had been up to doing. He would have continued traveling around, wrecking havoc everywhere he went, if it weren't for some news from his demons. Many of them had sworn that they had seen Gabriel, his youngest brother. The last time he had seen his brother was when he had killed him. Lucifer hadn't wanted to do it but Gabriel hadn't given him much of a choice. It was either kill or be killed.
He needed to pay him another visit, to see if Gabriel was still foolishly siding with humanity. If that was the case, then Lucifer wouldn't hesitate to kill him again, if his brother gave him no other choice, that is. Lucifer wasn't as evil as people liked to paint him to be, at least not when it came to his brothers. Killing Gabriel had been a hard and painful thing for him to do but he hadn't been about to let that Archangel blade slide into himself instead.
The world was a large place and his brother could be anywhere in it, but Lucifer knew exactly where to look first: the Elysian Fields Hotel, where Gabriel had met his end at the hands of his older brother. Lucifer teleported to the very room where he had done the deed and wasn't surprised in the least bit to see Gabriel standing in front of him. "So," he said, "Daddy dearest did decide to bring you back to life after all." Their Father had decided to resurrect His one son that was guaranteed to fight on the side of His favorite creation. What a nuisance this was for Lucifer.

The youngest archangel looked around the room that he had been killed in. this was the last place that he wanted to be in so he was about to leave. The memories would continue to flood back. He wondered if his father had brought him back remembering everything for some reason. Gabriel couldn’t think of it, the only thing that he believed could be the reason is for him to remember the pain and not to side with Lucifer. Gabriel just wanted to stay out of the fight now. He didn’t care who won, though he still would love for humanity to see it through. He just wanted the fighting to stop. He always wanted the fighting to stop.
It was a familiar voice that caught Gabriel off guard. It was one that hit him like a ton of bricks, one that made Gabriel almost stand there, shaking. He was afraid, that was a given. Gabriel had another flashback, seeing the look in his brother’s eyes as Gabriel was stabbed with his own blade. Gabriel turned slowly to face his brother. He just stood there in silence. Standing in front of Lucifer now was a whole lot different than when he would stand in front of him years upon years ago in heaven. Though as of now, everything was different.
Gabriel was still getting used to being alive again. There was no afterlife for the angels, it was just poof and they are gone. That was another thing that the archangel remembered. The nothingness that had followed the sudden feeling of no pain. It was just nothing.
“surprised?” Gabriel asked his older brother, the one whom he was so close to a long time ago. Gabriel was watching his brother closely. He wanted to keep as much space between them as he could. Again, this was the last place he wanted to be.

Lucifer had never wanted any of this. It hurt him to see Gabriel so afraid of him. And none of this would have had to have happened if their Father had never asked them to bow down to creatures that were no better than cockroaches; creatures that were worse than cockroaches. At least insects couldn't lie to others of their kind, nor did they run around killing each other, like a lot of humans loved to do to each other.
The world would be a better place when the humans were gone. His brothers may not understand that now but, as soon as he made it a reality, then they would wonder why they hadn't joined Lucifer when he had first rebelled against Heaven and their Father. Until then, though, he was going to have to treat them like he treated any of his other enemies, although a part of him was always going to love his brothers, no matter what they did or tried to do to him.
Was he surprised? "No," he answered his brother, "Father needed someone to help defend His cockroaches, and you are the only one foolish enough to want to do it." Or did Gabriel really want to do it? Just because he had his one moment of courage to stand up to his older brother, it didn't mean that that courage had lingered around for very long. Maybe death had given Gabriel a whole new perspective on how he should live his new life.
If there was a potential weakness to exploit there, then Lucifer sure was going to try and exploit it. The last thing he wanted to have to do was kill Gabriel a second time around. "But you don't have to do anything, Gabriel," he went on, "except walk away from all of this." Lucifer's tone was placating, bordering on almost pleading. It would be simpler for him if Gabriel chose to not get involved this time around. He only hoped that his younger brother could see that it was foolish of him to think that he could do anything to help save humanity.

The youngest archangel just stood there and stared at his older brother. He didn’t know how to react just yet so the word surprised seemed to be the best thing to say and the only thing to say. Gabriel just stood there staring at his brother, continuing to watch him. Gabriel wasn’t going to let him kill him this time and he hoped that Lucifer wouldn’t anyway. He couldn’t take that again. He couldn’t take that strain of his brother killing him again. It would really damage him if his father decided to bring him back to life for a third time.
The Trickster took a half step back from his brother as he started talking. Gabriel knew Lucifer was unpredictable and that was why he was keeping his distance. He knew this because Lucifer had taught Gabriel everything. “so does that make me the dumb ass younger brother still?” Gabriel asked Lucifer raising an eyebrow at him. Okay, maybe pulling the attitude with his brother wasn’t really a bright idea, especially if Lucifer is in the state of mind to kill Gabriel again.
The youngest archangel looked down where he had fell after Lucifer had stabbed him. Lucifer started talking. Gabriel slowly looked up at him. Lucifer was begging Gabriel to walk away from all of this. Walk away from all of what? He had only just gotten back and hadn’t done anything. Gabriel sort of grew confused. Did Lucifer not want Gabriel to stand and fight anymore? Probably. That was expected. It wasn’t that Gabriel was trying to get in the middle of their fight, he just didn’t think that it was right to do it here.
“walk away from what exactly?” Gabriel asked his older brother.
