» OVERALL: Sam is the most complicated simple person you may ever meet. He wants a normal life filled with family barbeques and get togethers, but lives for the thrill of the hunt and the feeling of getting justice. Unlike his brother Dean, Sam enjoys the power that comes along with the hunt. Though saving lives are important to Sam, it’s not why he hunts. He often hunts to get revenge, or to seek some kind of justice that his mind has determined is needed.
This alone is one of the reasons why Sam so easily stepped into the role of Death. The hard consequences will always be hard, but Death is about natural balance. For the world to keep turning and things to function, Death must exist, and execute his power accordingly. As a hunter, Sam understands that sometimes, even the innocent must die, and there is no way around that. You can’t cheat death.

» OVERALL HISTORY: The beginning of Sam’s story goes all the way back to infancy, when he was destined to be something different. While their mother lost her life in an attempt to keep Sam safe, a demon was leaving his mark on the infant, with a drop of blood. Though Sam was too small to remember, he has heard the stories over and over, and understands perfectly well what happened that night. On some days, he still feels the guilt of his mother’s death riding on his shoulders.
Getting away from the family lifestyle was all Sam ever wanted, a way to be normal. He participated in the hunts as a child, forced by his father’s hand, but once he became of age, Sam left. Packing his bags, Sam took off to college, where he made new friends and even met Jess. Jess was amazing for Sam, and together they had the life he always wanted. However, when Dean showed up out of nowhere, Sam knew that his life would never be normal again.
Jess died by the hands of the same demon who killed their mother, the demon Sam and Dean vowed to hunt down. When the brothers finally hunt down the demon, Sam ends up dying at the hands of one of the demons other ‘children’. To save his life, Dean must sell his soul to the crossroads demon, forcing Sam to vow that he would save Dean’s soul, no matter what.
Through trying to save Dean, Sam meets Ruby, a demon whom he falls for. Blinded by his feelings for Ruby, Sam keeps her in his life, asking her help numerous times. Regardless of Dean’s opinion, Sam continues his relationship with Ruby. At one point, she promises that she can save Dean, though in the end, that is found to be a lie. When Sam fails to save Dean from Lilith, who holds his contract, Dean dies and is sent to Hell.
Dean is gone for four months as Sam tries desperately to get him back. Calling on Ruby once more help, Sam is now willing to do anything, even if it means using demonic powers that he had tried to suppress. More powerful when he drinks demon blood, Sam acquired an addiction to the blood and found it very hard to resist after time. When Dean turns out to be alive, Sam hides his powers at first, though eventually cannot hide them anymore. In the end, however, the two manage to pull everything together and go after Lilith, killing her. When killed her though, he opened the final seal to Hell and let loose Lucifer, who would change their lives forever.
Learning of the impending Apocalypse, and his role in it, Sam refuses to give into Lucifer. This lasts for quite a while, as Dean holds off against Michael as well. As the Horsemen get pulled deeper into the fight, it becomes clear that the fate of the world is doomed. Finally, Sam agrees to allow Lucifer to take over his body. Mentally fighting Lucifer the whole time, Sam is able to jump into the Pit with Michael and stop the Apocalypse.
As usual with the Winchesters, Heaven is not ready for them to be dead, and neither is Death. Emerging from the Pit with Death’s ring, Sam is now the new Horseman, with all the power that comes with. Though he survived, Sam is not proud of the circumstances. He must kill everyone now, innocent or not, as long as it is their time. Partially ashamed of his new role, Sam has not yet reached out to Dean or anyone else.
» RP SAMPLE:The sunlight was bright on his eyes, forcing Sam to squint and shade his face using his hand. It had been almost a month since he jumped into that pit, fighting constantly with Michael. Never again would Sam complain about the arguing and the occasional physical fights between him and Dean, they were nothing like the fights of two angels, getting their aggressions out after centuries of holding it in.
Standing in a field, Sam could only assume it was the same location where he jumped into the Pit. There were no signs or visuals to indicate where he was, and try as he might, he couldn’t see anything beyond stretches of flat land, with the occasional tree or bush. That was really the moment when Sam began to investigate things, as he felt the cold steel band around his finger. The ring was distinctive, belonging to the Horseman Death.
Someone had pulled him out of that pit, and whoever it was, wasn’t finished altering his life. In his head, he knew what had happened, though he couldn’t make sense of it. He had been chosen as the new Horseman, the new balance to the world order. Death was no more, at least, not the Death that the world had known since the beginning of time. In the same way that Sam knew he had taken on the new role, he could sense that his three ‘brothers’ were out there as well, hiding as they too worked to understand their new roles.
“It’s time.” The voice was soft and sweet, and seemed to come from nowhere. As Sam turned, he came face to face with an army of Reapers, standing by to help their new boss come into his role. Lost and confused without Dean, Sam didn’t argue as he followed the Reapers, teleporting to a location far away from any chance of a human to discuss the new world order.
