I am usually not a person that uses IC cboxes, but I still voted yes because in my time roleplaying, I've noticed that IC chat has actually strengthened/created relationships between characters that otherwise probably wouldn't have happened, leading to a greater number of threads. I've seen some websites that have been against it because it takes away from posting. I would recommend implementing a rule that says you can only do IC chat if you are an active poster first. That way there can be an IC chat and still plenty of threads around the site.
